Removing the Cartridge Reader

  • To remove the cartridge reader look for 4 solder joints, 2 on each side of the reader (see image).

  • Apply heat to them with a soldering iron to melt the solder and take out the reader. Use a spudger to lift the reader out of the board as you apply heat.

  • You can apply some solder flux or even some new solder wire to form an alloy between the old and new metals, this would ease the task.

  • CAUTION: Soldering iron can cause severe burns if not used properly, proceed with caution and have an adult in the room with you if underage.

Wie man den Kartenleser entfernt

Um den alten Kartenleser zu entfernen, beginne mit den vier Füßen der Metallabdeckung. Wenn diese lose sind mache mit den Pins weiter.

Heize die Lötstellen mit deinem Lötkolben auf und wende mit einem Spudger leichte Hebelkraft an, um den Kartenleser zu entfernen.

Um dir die Arbeit zu erleichtern solltest du Flussmittel oder neuen Lötzinn auf die Lötstellen auftragen, da dies beim Flüssigwerden des alten Lötzinns hilft.

VORSICHT: Ein durchschnittlicher Lötkolben erreicht Temperaturen von mindestens 400° C! Sei also vorsichtig, wenn du lötest, und wenn du minderjährig bist sollte dich ein Erwachsener beaufsichtigen.

Außerdem sollte dein Raum gut belüftet sein, da beim Löten giftige Dämpfe entstehen, die auf lange Zeit Benommenheit und/oder Übelkeit auslösen können.
