  • Next, stitch along the long straight edge, which will again sew through the fabric patch and the laces inside it.

  • Now, seal the final "open" sides of the patch with another stitch line. In our example, this stitch was a rounded semi-circle line, which can be fiddly. Take your time!

  • Use a locking stitch to secure the repair, trim the excess thread and adjust the tightness of the speedlace to your preference.

Verstevig de steek en rond de reparatie af

Naai vervolgens langs de lange rechte rand, zodat je opnieuw door zowel de stoffen flap als de veters erin naait.

Naai nu de laatste "open" randen van de stoffen flap dicht met een extra stiklijn. In ons voorbeeld is deze stiklijn een afgeronde halve cirkel, wat een beetje priegelwerk kan zijn. Neem de tijd!

Gebruik een verstevigingssteek om de reparatie goed vast te zetten, knip overtollig draad af en pas de strakheid van de snelveter aan naar jouw voorkeur.
