Testing the outlet thermistor

  • If you aren't sure how to use a multimeter, take a look at this guide.

  • Set your multimeter to the ohms (Ω) setting. If your meter has more than one scale for ohms (Ω), set it to (Rx1000).

  • Touch the probes to the contacts on the thermistor. The reading at room temperature (70°F/21°C) should be about 12.5–14.5 kΩ for a Whirlpool Duet dryer;

  • Other models may have different values; 10 kΩ is common at room temperature (70°F/21°C) for another outlet thermistor (also called temperature control thermistor).

  • If your thermistor reads outside the proper range or reads no continuity (OL) or 0.00 Ω, follow the next steps to replace it.

Auslass-Thermistor testen

Wenn du dir nicht sicher bist, wie man ein Multimeter benutzt, schau dir diese Anleitung an.

Stelle dein Multimeter auf die Einstellung Ohm (Ω) ein. Wenn dein Messgerät mehr als eine Skala für Ohm (Ω) hat, stelle sie auf (Rx1000).

Berühre die Kontakte des Thermistors mit den Messsonden. Bei einem Whirlpool Duet Trockner sollte der Messwert bei Raumtemperatur (21°C/27°F) etwa 12,5-14,5 kΩ betragen.

Andere Modelle können andere Werte haben. 10 kΩ sind bei Raumtemperatur (70°F/21°C) für einen anderen Auslass-Thermistor (auch Temperaturregelungsthermistor genannt) üblich.

Wenn dein Thermistor außerhalb des korrekten Bereichs liegt oder keinen Stromdurchgang (OL) oder 0,00 Ω anzeigt, führe die folgenden Schritte aus, um ihn auszutauschen.
