Test the start winding

This step will require a multimeter. If you aren't familiar with how to use one, here is a guide that will help you.
Disconnect the lower bare copper wire aligned with terminal #3.
Measure the resistance from the diagonal terminal (between terminals #4–#6) and the wire removed aligned with terminal #3.
The value should be 2.7–3.0 Ω. If it's outside that range or OL, the motor is defective and needs to be replaced.
