Testing the outlet thermistor

  • If you aren't sure how to use a multimeter, take a look at this guide.

  • Set your multimeter to the ohms (Ω) setting. If your meter has more than one scale for ohms (Ω), set it to (Rx1000).

  • Touch the probes to the contacts on the thermistor. The reading at room temperature should be about 12.5–14.5 kΩ. The photo shows a reading for a good thermistor.

  • If your thermistor reads outside the range above, or reads no continuity (OL) or 0.00 Ω, follow the next steps to replace it.

Pon tu multímetro en el ajuste de ohmios (Ω). Si tu multímetro tiene más de una escala para ohmios (Ω), ponla en (Rx1000).

Toca con las sondas los contactos del termistor. La lectura a temperatura ambiente debe ser de unos 12,5-14,5 kΩ. La foto muestra la lectura de un termistor en buen estado.

Si la lectura de tu termistor está fuera del rango anterior, o no hay continuidad (OL) o es de 0,00 Ω, sigue los pasos siguientes para reemplazarlo.
