Flip the motherboard over so the battery is facing upwards.
Gently pry the battery out of the motherboard housing.
The best area to pry is at the top-left corner.
Take care not to puncture, bend, or twist the battery while removing it. A damaged battery can start a fire!
Disconnect the battery ribbon from the motherboard using the spudger tool.
