Den 2. Stoffstreifen am RV annähen

  • Nähe den zweiten Stoffstreifen an den Reißverschluss. Beginne ebenfalls am unteren Ende; der Reißverschlussfuß muss so eingestellt werden, dass die Nadel auf seiner anderen Seite entlangläuft.

  • Wenn du die Nadel für den ersten Streifen nicht in einer mittleren Position hattest, musst du ihre Position jetzt ebenfalls anpassen.

  • Nähe den zweiten Stoffstreifen dann genauso an wie den ersten (Schritt 4).

  • Wenn beide Stoffstreifen angenäht sind, leg den Reißverschluss mit der Oberseite nach oben vor dich hin. Prüfe:

  • Die Stoffstreifen sollten sich so umklappen, dass sie mit der linken Seite nach oben liegen.

  • Der komplette Reißverschluss ist sichtbar, auch das Reißverschlussband.

  • Die überstehenden Enden der Stoffstreifen am unteren Ende sind gleich lang.

  • Wenn deine Belege aus einem Stoff bestehen, der leicht ausfranst, solltest du jetzt die nicht-festgenähte lange Kante der Belege versäubern (z. B. mit der Overlock oder einem breiten Zickzackstich). Bei Wirkwaren wie in meinem Fall ist das nicht nötig, sie fransen nicht aus.

Sew the 2nd strip of fabric to the zipper.

Sew the second strip of fabric to the zipper. Also start at the bottom; the zipper foot must be adjusted so that the needle runs along its other side.

If you didn't have the needle in a middle position for the first strip, you'll need to adjust its position now as well.

Sew the second strip of fabric in the same way as the first (step 4)

When both strips of fabric are sewn on, place the zipper face up in front of you. Check the following points:

The fabric strips should fold over so that they are wrong side up.

The entire zipper is visible, including the zipper tape.

The overhanging ends of the fabric strips at the bottom are the same length.

If your overlays are made of a fabric that frays easily, you should now serge the non-sewn long edge of the overlays (e.g. with the overlock or a wide zigzag stitch). This is not necessary with knitted fabrics, as in my case, as they will not fray.
