Heat the battery adhesive

  • The battery is strongly adhered to the Steam Deck. The adhesive loosens with constant, steady force, and it will require repeated heating and prying cycles.

  • Heating a charged battery is a fire hazard. Make sure you've completely discharged your battery before starting this step.

  • Don't reuse the battery after it's been removed, as doing so is a potential safety hazard. Replace it with a new battery.

  • Use a heat gun to heat the adhesive underneath the battery for 1-2 minutes.

  • Alternatively, a hair dryer may also be used.

  • Try your best to not overheat the battery or surrounding plastic components. Keep the heat gun or hair dryer ~2 inches above the battery and constantly moving at all times—don't keep it heating one place for too long.

  • Although high-concentration isopropyl alcohol (>90%) may be an effective method to loosen this adhesive, there's a high risk of excess leaking onto or into the display or other components through the cutouts on the battery tray.

Scalda l'adesivo della batteria

La batteria è incollata saldamente allo Steam Deck. L'adesivo si allenta con forza costante e saranno necessari cicli ripetuti di riscaldamento e sollevamento.

Scaldare una batteria carica rappresenta un pericolo di incendio. Assicurati di aver scaricato completamente la batteria prima di iniziare questo passo.

Non riutilizzare la batteria dopo averla rimossa, poiché è un potenziale pericolo per la sicurezza. Sostituiscila con una nuova batteria.

Usa una pistola termica per scaldare l'adesivo sotto alla batteria per 1/2 minuti.

In alternativa, puoi usare un asciugacapelli.

Fai del tuo meglio per non surriscaldare la batteria o i componenti di plastica circostanti. Tieni la pistola termica o l'asciugacapelli circa 5 cm sopra la batteria e continua a muoverli tutto il tempo: non continuare a scaldare lo stesso punto troppo a lungo.

Anche se l'alcol isopropilico ad alta concentrazione (>90%) potrebbe essere un metodo efficace per allentare la presa di questo adesivo, c'è un alto rischio di sversamento su o dentro il display o su altri componenti attraverso i fori presenti sul telaio dietro la batteria.
