Disassembly
  • You will need to leave your Kindle powered on but in sleep mode.

  • If it has run out of power, you may want to plug it in first to ensure that the display is still intact and not cracked.

  • Gently pry the bezel off the screen using a plastic opening tool. Start at the corners and slide around the edges until you return to your starting point.

  • You may need plastic cards in between the bezel and rear cover if the former keeps sticking back down while you attempt to pry it up.

  • Be careful if using the metal spudger, as it can scratch the surface of the Kindle.
