  • The speaker opposite the fan also looks emaciated compared with its 2016 predecessor.

  • Apple's audio engineers are basically wizards, but we're skeptical that even wizards could maintain the same sound quality in a speaker this much smaller.

  • Only a few Torx screws secure these speakers—they're not glued down like on so many other models. Replacement almost couldn't be easier.

  • This modular Thunderbolt breakout board makes for a nice upgrade—last time, these were soldered to the logic board. This new configuration is more akin to the rest of the modern Pro line.

  • A little farther and we're treated to another modular masterpiece: the headphone jack module. It includes the headphone jack, microphone, and Touch ID connector, and can be easily replaced without dragging along an expensive logic board.

Anche l'altoparlante dal lato opposto alla ventola appare deperito rispetto al suo predecessore del 2016.

È vero che gli ingegneri del suono Apple sono dei maghi, ma noi restiamo scettici: nemmeno dei maghi, crediamo, possono mantenere la stessa qualità del suono in un altoparlante di così tanto più piccolo.

Questi altoparlanti sono fissati da poche viti Torx: non sono incollati come su tantissimi altri modelli. La sostituzione non potrebbe essere più facile.

Questa breakout board Thunderbolt modulare è una bella novità: l'ultima volta c'erano delle saldature alla scheda madre. Questa nuova configurazione è più in sintonia con il resto della linea Pro attuale.

Ci spostiamo di poco e siamo colti da un altro capolavoro di modularità: il modulo del jack cuffie. Comprende il jak cuffie stesso, il microfono e il connettore Touch ID; può essere facilmente sostituito senza doversi tirar dietro una costosa scheda logica.
