  • We're pleased the headphone jack is back, even if it is hanging out all by itself. (Two ports plus a headphone jack still feels a bit stingy on a "Pro" machine, right?)

  • By now, the opening procedure is old hat. Dispatching a handful of pentalobe screws and clips lets us peer into a MacBook Pro that looks ... surprisingly similar to the older function key model, actually.

  • The new 58.2 Wh battery capacity slightly exceeds the 54.5 Wh battery found in the old function key model. Maybe that's how it keeps up with the added Touch Bar, Touch ID sensor, and T2 chip while keeping the same 10-hour battery life.

  • It even bests the 58.0 Wh battery in the more expensive 13" model—which has more cores and TDP to power.

Siamo lieti di constatare il ritorno del jack cuffie, anche se rimane molto sulle sue, lontano dal resto (certo che due sole porte e un jack cuffie su una macchina "Pro" sembrano il sintomo di una certa tirchieria…)

Al momento, la procedura di apertura non dice nulla di nuovo. Dopo aver avuto ragione di una manciata di viti pentalobe e di clip, ci troviamo a guardare un MacBook Pro che appare... sorprendentemente simile al vecchio modello function key.

La capacità della nuova batteria, 58,2 Wh, supera lievemente i 54,5 Wh disponibili con il vecchio modello function key. Probabilmente è per questo che mantiene la stessa autonomia di dieci ore pur avendo in più Touch Bar, Touch ID e chip T2.

Migliora perfino il dato di 58,0 Wh della batteria del più costoso modello da 13", che ha un maggior numero di cores e più TDP da gestire.
