  • On our way to the fingerprint sensor, we fish out the USB-C port, attached to a long interconnect cable.

  • If you opt to charge wirelessly, the wear-and-tear on this port should be greatly reduced—but when it does fail, it's nice to see that it comes out separately from the daughterboard and SIM card reader.

  • We're all in favor of more major component modularity (or MMCM, as no one calls it). This makes for greatly expedited repairs compared with, say, the soldered ports on the new Galaxy S10 line.

  • While we're here, we extract the traditional (non-display-based) loudspeaker module.

Auf unserem Weg zum Fingerabdrucksensor fischen wir den USB-C-Anschluss heraus, der an einem langen Verbindungskabel angeschlossen ist.

Wenn du dich für drahtloses Laden entscheidest, sollte der Verschleiß an diesem Anschluss stark reduziert werden – aber wenn er ausfällt, ist es doch ganz gut zu wissen, dass er getrennt von der Tochterplatine und dem SIM-Kartenleser ausgebaut werden kann.

Wir sind alle für eine größere Modularität der Komponenten. Dies ermöglicht wesentlich schnellere Reparaturen im Vergleich zu beispielsweise den gelöteten Anschlüssen der neuen Galaxy S10-Reihe.

Wenn wir schon hier sind, holen wir auch noch das traditionelle (nicht auf dem Display sitzende) Lautsprechermodul heraus.
