To take the CPU off you will need to unlock it, use the plastic opening tool to unlock the CPU. Turn it to the left until it is unlocked.
The lock will look like a small circle with a gap in the middle.
If you get thermal paste (the grey goopy looking stuff) on your hands, make sure to wash it off with warm water.
