  • The battery is strongly glued into place.

  • Peel up the black pull tab at the top edge of the battery, and slowly pull it away from the battery at about a 45-degree angle to release the command strips (a.k.a. stretch-release adhesive) underneath.

  • If the command strips break or the black pull tab is missing, you can still remove the battery using heat and/or isopropyl alcohol to weaken the adhesive.

  • Apply some high concentration (>90%) isopropyl alcohol under each corner of the battery and allow it to penetrate for several minutes to help weaken the adhesive.

  • Alternatively, apply a freshly heated iOpener to the back of the phone directly behind the battery for two minutes to help soften the adhesive. Re-heat and reapply the iOpener as necessary.

De batterij is stevig op z'n plek vastgelijmd.

Trek de zwarte treklip aan de bovenkant van de batterij los en trek deze langzaam onder de batterij weg in een hoek van ongeveer 45 graden. Zo maak je de uitrekbare kleefstrips onder de batterij los.

Als de kleefstrips breken, of je kunt de zwarte treklip niet vinden, is het nog steeds mogelijk om de batterij met behulp van warmte en/of isopropyl alcohol te verwijderen.

Dien wat isopropyl alcohol (>90%) toe onder iedere hoek van de batterij en laat dit intrekken. Ga vervolgens verder.

Als alternatief kun je je iOpener verwarmen en deze gedurende twee minuten op de achterkant, direct achter de batterij, leggen om de lijm eronder te verzwakken. Herhaal deze stap zo vaak als nodig is om de batterij van de lijm los te krijgen.
