  • To test the heating element, use a digital multimeter.

  • Set the multimeter to 200 under ACV (alternating current voltage).

  • Bring the ends of the multimeter toward the two lead wires.

  • If the circuit between the wires is closed, the numbers on the multimeter should keep changing.

  • If the numbers are not changing, replace the heating element.

  • If the circuit is closed, check the thermal cutout.
