  • AirPort card functions are consolidated onto the main board—for some unknown reason, Apple ditched the modularity from the 5K model. But we did pick up this funky new retaining clip for the coax cables.

  • The power supply connects to the logic board by way of not one, not two, but four shiny terminals secured with Torx screws.

  • This design is much closer to what we saw on the 2013 Mac Pro than the plasticky connectors we're used to ripping out of the iMac 5K.

  • It also makes accessing logic board components (apart from the RAM of course) much, much easier. With the power supply tucked back into the rear shell, we can remove the board right away. Let's do that!

AirPort-Kartenfunktionen sind auf der Hauptplatine verbaut – aus unbekannten Gründen hat Apple die Modularität des 5K-Modells aufgegeben. Aber wir haben diesen ungewöhnlichen neuen Halteclip für die Koaxialkabel erkannt.

Das Netzteil wird nicht über einen, nicht zwei, sondern über vier glänzende Klemmen, die mit Torx-Schrauben gesichert sind, mit der Hauptplatine verbunden.

Dieses Design ist viel näher an dem, was wir auf dem Mac Pro 2013 gesehen haben, als die Plastikstecker, die wir gewohnt sind, aus dem iMac 5K herauszureißen.

Es macht auch den Zugriff auf Komponenten auf der Hauptplatine (abgesehen vom RAM natürlich) viel, viel einfacher. Wenn das Netzteil wieder in der hinteren Schale steckt, können wir die Platine sofort entfernen. Lass uns das tun!
