Using a pry tool, separate the plastic housing that holds the hinges in place from the display panel.
Pry open the housing of the display cable in order to completely remove it from the top panel of the laptop.
While it isn't necessary to remove the plastic housing mentioned in the first part of this step, it helps prying open the display cable housing by offering more space to work.
