Take the needle nose pliers and stick them in the rectangular hole.

With the pliers, firmly grasp the metal pin that holds the bolt for the wheel in place.

Slide the pin off the bolt by pushing the pliers forward.

Carefully remove the pin from the rectangular hole and keep it in a safe place.
