After you've released the 3 clips, you should be free to pop the top cover right off. You can help it along by pushing on one of the clips.

After the back part pops off, slide the whole top cover forward a little. (There are two more hooks in front of the mouse where the buttons are, that normally prevent you from pulling the buttons upward.) That should let you remove the whole thing.
