Pull the old cabin air filter out of the housing.

Cabin air flows from top to bottom. You can tell based on which side is dirty (the top side, in this case).

The arrow on some replacement filters indicate which way faces up. On others, the arrow indicates the direction of airflow, which would be down. Refer to your replacement filter's instructions and install accordingly.
