To make sure to not break the headbad, start by removing the cover for the sliding mechanism. This will allow you to push hard on it later when removing the swivel cover.

With the earpiece in your hands, use your two tumbs to firmly press the cover out. It should slide up. Do not try to pry it out as you would break the plastic clips.
