Their are two buttons in our Modifiers panel with an icon resembling a triangle with dots at its corners.

Clicking these buttons will toggle the modifier's on and off for editing, and shows the base geometry. This helps to simplify editing later on by making it easier to select and manipulate the components of the Icing without adding any complexity.
