Clear out dust and dirt using another vacuum or a suitable brush.

Remove any tangled hair or debris from moving parts such as a brush roll.

Take a picture for an easier later reassebly.

Wash plastic and foam parts with mild soap and water but keep electronics dry.

Avoid using oil on sealed motor bearings or advanced motors.

Dry all components thoroughly to prevent moisture damage during reassembly.
