Pull the battery ribbon cable straight out of the socket to disconnect it from the motherboard.

If you need help, use the point of a spudger to push on alternating sides of the battery connector to "walk" it out of its socket on the motherboard.

To reconnect the cable, hold it as close to the end as possible and insert it back into the connector. Apply force to the plastic reinforcement rather than the cable itself.

Try not to kink or crease the cable.
