Remove the plastic covers from the battery terminals.

Use a wrench to disconnect the lawn mower battery terminals.

Disconnect the battery by removing the negative (black) terminal first, followed by the positive (red) terminal.

When reassembling, reconnect the battery in reverse order: positive terminal first, then negative.
