Remove the tray release arm

Only grip the spring by the hook on either end. Gripping the middle of the spring can deform it.

Use a pair of needle nose pliers or your fingers to lift the spring off of the tray release arm on the left end of the Cricut.

Some damping grease may hold this spring in place.
