Hold the controller in one hand and remove the front of the touchpad with your other hand.

The front of the touchpad is securely clipped to the back. You will need to pull firmly.

Make sure the touchpad cable does not get caught as it threads through the slot in the touchpad housing.

During reassembly:

Make sure the replacement touchpad includes a cable. If it does not, transfer the touchpad ribbon cable to the new part.

Thread the touchpad cable through its slot in the touchpad housing.

Squeeze the two sides of the touchpad together until the snap into place.
