Apply a couple of drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol at the top of the battery to help loosen the adhesive that secures it.

Use an opening pick to gently pry up the battery.

Take care not to bend or puncture the battery.

Remove the battery.

During reassembly, if your new battery doesn't come with pre-applied adhesive, apply some to the well. Then, firmly press the new battery into place.
