Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the four 6.5 mm‑long screws (two on each side) securing the two joystick brackets to the Portal.

These screws can be tight. Brace the Portal with your hand and apply strong pressure to the screwdriver. You can also try using a JIS #00 screwdriver to get a better grip on these screws.
