Disconnect the charging plug from the battery, by disconnecting the yellow connector (attached to a red wire and a black wire).

This will make it easier to work inside of the deck of the scooter.

The 3-pin aviation connector (charging port) is very dangerous - don't put anything metal anywhere close to the prongs, as it will arc or explode.
