This step is required to repair the side brushes or beater bar motor. It can be skipped in most other repairs.

Remove the two silver 10mm screws holding each side brush motor.

It is usually possible to remove these screws without detatching all of the wires from the motherboard, but after unscrewing the motherboard and lifting it gently over its centering pegs.

Unplug each motor from the motherboard, if necessary, and remove.
