Heat an iOpener and apply it to the display cable for two minutes.

The iOpener may stick to the residue left over from the battery. Clean the surrounding surface to prevent this.

A hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate may also be used, but be careful not to overheat the phone—the display is susceptible to heat damage.
