Disconnect the flex cable

Use a plastic spudger or non-conductive tweezers to disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard.

Ensure the tweezers are not pointed or sharp. Be gentle to avoid tearing the flex cable. This could cause a short-circuit in the battery connector, or scratch and damage traces on the motherboard.
