The battery is secured to the frame with strong adhesive. Removing the battery will require weakening and cutting through the adhesive.

The battery is divided into four cells. In the following procedure, you'll detach each cell separately from the frame.

Prop the top edge of the Surface up a couple inches so the whole Surface slopes toward the bottom edge.
