Clean the area around the leak with a wire bush or garden trowel and a bucket, taking out the leaves and debris placing what you remove in the bucket and flushing the gutters with water using a hose to make sure you have a clean area, as well as rinsing and drying the area thoroughly.

Since this requires a ladder, it is better to have another adult nearby just to stay safe!
