Twist the metal locking clip (indicated by red arrow) counterclockwise out of the locking position.

Use any flathead screwdriver to accomplish this task.

During reassembly, turn the metal locking clip (in red) clockwise, back into the locked position, to keep the battery secure.

Push the latch (component in red) upwards.
