Holding them by their white plastic coverings, firmly pull the two wires from the power switch.

Be sure to grip the wires from their attached connectors. Pulling directly on the wires could damage your vacuum.

The terminals will only fit one way during reassembly. Only one of the wires is long enough to reach the far terminal of the switch.
