[title] Writing to the USB drive (Rufus)
[* red] Click on the CD image. This will bring up a window to select your ISO so you can write it to the USB stick.
-[* black] Select the ISO you want to write to the drive.
-[* black] Click ***OK*** to write the image to the flashdrive. ***If this is a used flashdrive, back the drive up first. This will erase the whole drive before it writes to it!***
+[* black] Select the ISO you want to write to the drive. You will have to find the location it was downloaded to. For most users, this will be the ***Downloads*** folder. If you do not use the default folder, you will have to find it.
+[* black] Click ***Start*** to write the image to the flashdrive. The drive will format before the image is written to it, so make sure the drive is backed up first if it has any data on it.
+[* icon_note] Rufus will ask you if you want to write the ISO in ISO or DD mode. This is up to you, but Rufus will recommend the best option of the two. It is also recommended you at least do a 2 pass block check to see if the drive has any problems. This will add a lot of time, but it ensures the USB drive is not damaged.
[* icon_note] ***For users who require a CD/DVD to boot a OS or systems with buggy USB boot implementations:*** Refer to [guide|54074|this guide] if you need a CD/DVD to boot the system. ***This will not apply to most users, since a lot of systems can boot off of USB. If you somehow need it, this is the new solution***.
-[* icon_note] Rufus may ask you if you want to write the ISO in ISO or DD mode. The choice is up to you here on which one you want to use. It is also recommended you do a block scan on the USB drive with a 2 pass minimum. This will add a bit of time, but will ensure the integrity of the drive.
