| [title] Game read test |
| [* black] Put the laser back in the PlayStation and to a read test to see how many games you can get to read. If you can get 80%, this should be what you try for. You ideally want something higher then 80% if you can get it You should go for 90% or better. |
| [* black] To test the read percentage, put a certain amount of games in the system. You can use as many games as much as you want but 5 games is more then enough to get a good idea on how well the laser works. ***While you are doing this read test, do not adjust the laser until you finish testing the current adjustment.*** |
| [* black] If you can get the game to load, play each game on the system for a little bit and see if any issues come up. Take notes of any problems that come up during the play test. Games that do not load should be failed, while games with problems should have such issues noted. |
| [* black] If you want to try for a better read percentage, adjust the laser further and repeat this test. At some point you will get too fast and no games will read. Once you get to this point, back off until you find the sweet spot on your particular laser. |
| [* icon_note] If you see the ***Insert PlayStation CD-ROM*** screen, you are going too slow for the system to read the game. If you see this happen, you will need to increase the trimpot further. |
