[title] (Parted Magic) Erasing failed drives
[* icon_caution] ***Depending on what features of the ATA Security Set your hard drive supports, some erasure options may not be supported.***
-[* black] If you decide to dispose of the drive, Parted Magic can be used to erase it. While Parted Magic can erase the drive, you are limited to the options supported by the drive. ***Many older hard drives do not support ATA Secure Erase.***
-[* red] Many newer hard drives can be erased using ATA Secure Erase. ***Unless the hard drive you have does not support this or has implementation problems, this is the best option.***
-[* orange] If your drive does not support ATA Secure Erase or has implementation problems, select ***External*** and choose the utility you want to use if you just want to erase the drive. ***If you are concerned about security, use Nwipe and select the DoD Short erasure method.***
+[* black] If you decide to dispose of the drive, Parted Magic can be used to erase it. ***Note:*** Depending on what ATA Security Set features are supported, your drive may not support all available erase options.
+[* red] Most new hard drives support ***ATA Secure Erase***. ***Note:*** If your drive supports this but has a buggy implementation, it is best to use the external options.
+[* orange] If your drive is older and ***does not*** support ATA Secure Erase, select ***External*** and choose the utility that fits the security you are looking for. ***If you are concerned about erasure security, choose Nwipe and select DoD Short.***
