Don't bother with PC2-4200. You can't find it anymore. PC2-5300 is less common but you can still find it. Try and get PC2-6400 memory. This will be the cheapest of all 3 of these memory options the machine supports. Even with 800MHz being a cheaper option this is expensive in amounts over 4GB. If you want 8GB, be prepared to pay for it. 4GB is still ridiculous, but not to the degree that 8GB is.
This machine can supposedly accept 8GB, but I am not about to test that. It's too expensive to bother testing. If you can swing it, great. I would get 4GB unless you know you can afford 8GB of DDR2.
