Some reasons for motherboard failure include overheating, dust, power surges, and old age. | | | * Soldering and de-soldering instruments | | * Screw driver for 4mm, 5mm, and 10mm screws | | Overview: | | Before using this guide, make sure to check out the page on [guide|750|soldering and desoldering] as this will be an important skill in step 5. | | | * Unplug your device before beginning disassembly. | | * Unscrew the exterior screws | | * Remove the cover | | * Unscrew the motherboard screws | | * Detach the motherboard with the de-soldering tool and replace using the soldering tool | | * Reassemble | | Be sure to ***unplug your device*** before starting as to avoid any electrical related injuries and/or damages. |
