'''Distros this works under: Universal''' | '''What this guide accomplishes: Making a USB drive bootable to install Linux.''' | '''Edit advisory: IDVD steps have been dropped Steps 8 and 9 with another option for CD-R booting. I have a final copy of the previous guide before this as an option for those who want the previous version.''' | '''**DVD version link**''' | [http://bit.ly/1ZDH5c1|Google Drive] | | '''**Used flashdrives**''' | | If you are using a used drive, work like this: | * 5 | * 6 | * 7 | * 1 | * 2 | * 3 | * 4 | | The problem that caused this is I didn't initially consider a used drive option, because of how I handle these Linux boot drives(I'd rather get a new drive and use that). As such, I intended this to require a new drive, due to the minimal cost to get one. I still stand behind this suggestion, but I put steps in for the people who want to reuse a drive. This also brings me to my reason for formatting used drives, which is filesystem integrity. The only way to be sure is a format. |
