Introduction
***What You'll Need***
* ***Phillips #1 screwdriver*** – for removing screws
* ***Plastic opening tool or spudger*** – to safely open the case
***Replacement USB-C IO board*** – part number: 55.AZ1N7.001​
***1. Power Down and Unplug***
* Place your Chromebook face down on a soft surface.
* Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove all screws from the bottom panel.
* Gently insert the plastic opening tool between the back cover and the base. Carefully work your way around to release the clips and remove the cover.​

***2. Remove the Back Cover***
* Locate the battery connector on the motherboard.
* Gently unplug the battery connector to prevent any electrical issues.
***3. Locate the USB-C IO Board***
* Find the USB-C IO board near the edge of the motherboard.
* Disconnect any cables attached to the IO board.
* Remove the screws securing the IO board and carefully lift it out.
***4. Disconnect the Battery***
* Place the new IO board into position.
* Reconnect all cables to the new board.
* Secure the board with screws

***5. Remove the USB-C IO Board***
* Plug the battery connector back into the motherboard.
* Place the back cover onto the Chromebook and press around the edges to snap it into place.
* Reinsert and tighten all screws on the bottom panel
 ***6. Install the New USB-C IO Board***
* Power on your Chromebook.
* Plug a device into the new USB-C port to ensure it's working correctly.​
***7. Reconnect the Battery and Reassemble***
* Reconnect the battery connector.
* Place the back cover onto the Chromebook and secure it with screws.​
***8. Test the New USB Port***
Power on the Chromebook and test the new USB-C port to ensure it's functioning correctly.​
