Introduction
***++Black Screen++***
''Your screen does not light up when you press the power button.''
***Brightness is Too Low***
If the brightness on your computer is too low, then the screen would appear black. Try using the key command ***FN+(F3)*** to increase the brightness.
***Laptop Needs to be Charged***
Laptops in power saving mode will dim the brightness by default in order to save the battery. Charge your laptop to a moderate battery level to disable power saving mode.
***Screen Needs to be Replaced***
If your screen is still black after adjusting your brightness and charging your laptop, ++replacing your screen++ might be the only option.
Screen replacement might also be necessary if the screen is visibly damaged (broken pieces, cracks, vertical or horizontal lines of various colors), has stuck or dead pixels, or does not function properly, especially if you noticed these issues before your screen went completely black. Stuck pixels will be a spot on your screen stuck on one color, while dead pixels are black spots on your screen.
