Use this guide to help you replace the thermal cutoff on your Whirlpool Duet WED87HED Dryer.
The thermal cutoff is one of the last lines of defense to keep your machine from overheating. When it blows, it acts to disconnect the heating element, but the dryer will still turn on.
If it blows the dryer will not heat, except in some unusual circumstances.
The repair is rated difficult, mainly for the number of steps and the amount of dismantling needed, including some difficult steps when removing the front lower bulkhead.
