Introduction
Follow this guide to calibrate the in-screen optical fingerprint sensor in your Samsung phone or tablet. You should perform the calibration whenever you replace the screen, to ensure that the fingerprint sensor is accurate and secure.
***This calibration procedure is for optical fingerprint sensors only.*** These sensors are commonly found in Galaxy A series phones and Tab S tablets. If your Samsung device has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor (Galaxy S series), don't follow this procedure. For more information, check out the ++[document|2746327502|Samsung Self-Repair document]++.
You'll need the Samsung fingerprint sensor calibration toolkit in order to complete this procedure.
Note: the device used is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, but the procedure is identical across all Samsung devices with an in-screen optical fingerprint sensor.
