Follow this guide to replace a faulty Touch ID sensor that will not scan your fingerprint.
If your Touch ID no longer functions you may have a faulty Touch UD. To decide if you need to replace the Touch ID or complete the steps to access the ribbon cable and remove and re-plug in the cable. If the Touch ID continues replace the fan using this guide. Make sure to replace the fan with Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga 2nd Generation’s own Touch ID part. This guide is not particularly difficult, but take care when removing parts such as the ribbon cable to avoid damage.
