Introduction
This guide is intended for use on engines already removed from the vehicle. While this kind of work may be possible to complete with the engine still in the car, it will be much easier with the engine removed.
The connecting rod is what connects the piston with the crankshaft on an engine. It converts the “push-pull” motion of the piston to the rotational motion of the crankshaft hence needing some sort of bearing in order for the circular motion to be performed smoothly.
