Locate the RAM on the Power Mac G5.
-
-
-
Use your thumbs to push the RAM ejector pins to the sides.
-
-
-
Remove the RAM module from the DIMM slot.
When installing new memory, note the orientation of the notch in the row of pins - about two fifths from the front of the computer - in relation to the matching ridge in the slots.
You must be sure that the locking levers at each end of each module is engaged securely. Test by gently pulling on each corner of the modules.
I would recommend re-seating the existing modules several times before buying new ones. Worked for me.

Major thing to note, you must install RAM in pairs. You can't just install one card on the top and not one on the bottom. Pairs start from the center and move outwards.
